Exquisite Aeolian villa
built into the cliffs above the sea

Built into the cliffy craggy rocks that form the coast of Panarea, this is a truly en-chanting and exquisitely presented villa. Views are splendid: over the sea to the ac-tive volcano of Stromboli and to the fairy-tale offshore islets of Basiluzzo and Lisca Bianca…

In typical Aeolian style, the whitewashed walls, with doors and windows framed in ochre make a truly striking contrast with the incredi-ble blue of the Aeolian sea and sky, opening onto the typical roofed terraces — which form the true heart of the island houses, and on which most of daily life is lived — at least during the summer! The garden — most of it natural rock, with splashes of bougainvillea among the typical Mediterranean maquis — leads straight down to the sea. The villa is typical of houses on the Aeolian archipelago, in that the heart of the home is outside on the covered terrace with its whitewashed walls and characteris-tic columns. This is the villa’s main living area with a dining area shaded by a pergola, a breakfast area and the benches known as bisuoli, typical of Aeolian architecture, built into the walls. The villa is on two storeys. Accommodation consists of four bedrooms, each with air-conditioning, plasma TV screen, satellite, fridge bar and an ensuite bathroom with shower. One bedroom, on the top floor, has a private terrace. The other three, on the level below, have an independent entrance and open onto the larger covered terrace.

We like

One of the most appealing aspects of Panarea, is that its residents – both full- and part-time – take great care to maintain the beauty of homes, gardens and the natu-ral environment. We love the views, and living with the sound of the sea. We love that all the bedrooms have ensuite facilities, and we adore the room with its own terrace (naturally the person who BOOKS the villa should get first pick!!!!) We like that the kitchen is small — it is the perfect excuse for keeping lunches and dinners simple! Aeolian pastas made with local tomatoes, capers and chilli, or salads of locally cured tuna with potato, lemon, capers and peperoncino… with plenty of lo-cally produced Hauner Iancura or Hierà Rose!

We think

Although children are welcome, this is really an ideal villa for a group of couples or friends.
