Villa Saba is located in a tranquil spot on the coast between Punta Faro and Capo Milazza, a few kilometres from Messina, with incredible views of the Aeolian Islands. Surrounded by fruit trees and a Mediterranean garden, Saba has everything – always a rarity along the Sicilian coast – it is secluded, bathed in sunlight, and it has direct access to a sandy beach.

It also has access to a large pool and tennis court, which it shares with the villa next door, and several terraces, furnished to make outdoor living easy. These features, along with a ping pong table, make it absolutely ideal for groups of families and friends – of all ages.

Even more unusual, all the terraces have ceiling fans – making them comfortable places to relax even on the hottest of days. There is also a covered outdoor kitchen with barbecue and wood-burning oven – this really is a villa where life can be lived outdoors.

Saba has an area of 300 square metres, on 2 floor, connected both by indoor and outdoor flights of stairs. All the downstairs rooms open onto the verandas – two bedrooms open onto the terraces that overlook the garden, while a third bedroom opens onto the terrace with views of the sea. Completing the ground floor is a large open-plan living room, divided into a zone for reading/watching TV, and a dining area with fireplace opening onto the veranda – the perfect place to sit and watch the sun setting over the islands of Lipari and Vulcano.

On the upper floor are two more bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom and access to the sea-view terrace. The other has a window which opens onto the inland side of the villa, with views of the Peloritani mountains.

We like

Enjoying the sun set over the Aeolian Islands as we bask in the pool.
Having direct access to the sandy beach.
Making the most of the warm summer evenings by cooking and eating outdoors — thanks to the villa’s fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a wood-burning oven and barbeque.

We think

The villa, with its large swimming pool, shared tennis court, and various well-equipped outdoor areas, is ideal for large families or groups of friends who want to spend a comfortable beach holiday in Sicily. It’s the kind of place where people of different ages, with different needs, can all be catered for.

Things to do

Watch the sunsets, particularly colourful in this part of Sicily, and see the sun dying in the stretch of sea between Lipari and Vulcano.
Visit the Ganzirri lakes where excellent Messina mussels are farmed and stop to eat them in one of the typical trattorias along the lake’s shores.
Go kitesurfing from the watersports centre close to the villa.
