Private access to the sea and
views over Palermo

Mondello, Palermo

Set on the rocky coast of the exclusive little seaside resort of Addaura, near Mondello, the villa is in a great position with private access to the sea –with a large platform on which you can swim or sunbathe. Recently restored, and simply but tastefully furnished, L’Alba is the ideal family villa. There is plenty of outdoor space, and great views from the patio and roof terrace over the gulf of Palermo.

Recently restored, the villa is designed in a way that combines great taste with simplicity and comfort, and is full of those little details that make all the difference: the terrace is equipped with a music system and the bar area has an ice maker and splendid barbecue.
The rooms are small but comfortable and well-organised  with the living room (with TV area) opening onto a covered patio furnished as a dining area. A spacious, comfortably furnished terrace is the real heart of the villa – and from here there is access to the sea via a staircase.

We like

This is one of the simpler villas in our portfolio — but it’s position, with private sea access is amazing! It really is perfect for a traditional Italian family holiday.
The views are just splendid — especially at sunset!
Waking up in the morning and jumping straight into the sea!
Mondello is really close for days on a sandy beach with all the comforts Italian lidos can offer.
It’s great to have a seaside holiday, but be able to pop into Palermo whenever you feel like it!
Spend a morning seeing the mosaics of the Cappella Palatina and shopping at the incredible Ballarò market, then come home for lunch and a lazy afternoon on your terrace.

We think

L’Alba is a perfect villa or a anyone wanting a quiet, traditional holiday by the sea, within easy reach of a great art city and a lively resort. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and plenty of outdoor spaces (both open and covered)
L’Alba would suit either a family or a small group of friends.

Things to do

Some things not to miss in you are staying at the Villa L’Alba.

  • Mondello’s most striking and characteristic buildings are the Liberty or Art Nouveau villas built by the wealthy and aristocratic Palermitani of the early 20th century.
  • Monte Pellegrino, overlooking the bay of Mondello, was considered to be the most beautiful promontory in the world by the poet Goethe.
  • the Sanctuary of Saint Rosalia, Palermo’s much-venerated patron saint.
  • the Parco della Favorita, onetime hunting reserve of the Bourbon royal family, The park includes a Chinese-style Casina. Also bordering the park is the Villa Niscemi (whose owners also donated land to the King), evocatively described in the book These Happy Summer Days by Fulco di Verdura. The villa can be visited.
  • The natural reserve of Capo Gallo
  • The historic centre of Palermo, one, togheter Rome and Barcellona; the largest in Europe
  • Marvel at the Palazzo dei Normanni, home to the most splendid court in medieval Europe, with the sumptuous jewel-box-like mosaics of Cappella Palatina at its heart.
  • Visit the Galleria Regionale della Sicilia at Palazzo Abatellis, where highlights include a haunting white marble portrait bust of Eleanor of Aragon by Francesco Laurana, and a fine collection of works by Sicily’s greatest artist, Antonello da Messina
