The villa, located in a marvellously panoramic spot in the city centre, is also surprisingly private. From the gates, a long avenue lined with olive trees leads to the villa, which is built on various levels, with the main entrance leading into spacious reception rooms with high ceilings. The right wing of the villa comprises an office, and a large kitchen with living room and TV. Glass doors open onto the swimming pool, lawn and an area furnished for outdoor living and dining.

In the left wing is a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with hydromassage tub and shower, and a second double bedroom with private bathroom and shower. A flight of steps leads to a loft with two further bedrooms – a double and a twin – which share a bathroom.
The villa is surrounded by a huge garden, with views of the city and the gulf of Catania.

We like

Watching the sun rise over the sea while the city sleeps. Having a poolside aperitivo at sunset.
Living in total peace and calm amid a Sicilian metropolis.
Being able to choose between sandy and rocky beaches – with extremely well equipped lidos.
Participating in the vibrant street- and cultural-life of the city, then taking refuge in the villa. Dining with the lights of Catania at your feet.

We think

The villa is ideal for anyone who loves to relax by the sea without having to forgo the comforts and diversions of a big city with shops, bars, restaurants, theatres, an opera house, concert halls and cinemas A great location for exploring eastern Sicily – from Mount Etna and the Alcantara Gorge to chic Taormina, charming Ortigia and the fascinating little resorts of the Costa del Ciclope.

Things to do

  • Explore Mount Etna with a private guide. Whether you want to explore in a jeep or on foot, we can’t emphasise how much more you will get out of a trip to Etna in the company of someone who understands its volcanology, geology and history.
  • Explore the Alcantara valley, formed by the Alcantara river carving its way through lava deposited by the eruption of Monte Moia around 2400BC.  There are lots of ways to explore, ranging from the gentle riverside walks from Francavilla di Sicilia, to river-trekking and canyoning.
  • Visit the the little hilltown of Castiglione di Sicilia, for its weathered houses, pantiled roofs and stunning views across the valley to Etna. Don’t miss the local cheesemakers, Alcantara Formaggi, on Via Federico II.
  • Spend a morning in Catania. See the Duomo and the nearby. fishmarket, the Pescheria, and visit the Museo Belliniano, dedicated to the city’s most famous son, opera composer Gioacchino Bellini.
