Typical Aeolian House
by the Sea
Casa Otto is a beautiful Aeolian-style villa right on the sea – with whitewashed walls, typical Aeolian bisuoli (tiled stone benches built into the walls of the terrace), and traditional Sicilian tiles. There are views of the volcanic rock formations from the garden, and from the solarium and its marvellous bio-heated jacuzzi.

A spacious terrace covered with a typical Aeolian roof made of chestnut beams and bamboo canes is a wonderful place to sit on summer evenings in the cool, dining at the large oriental table. Drinks can be prepared in the small but well-equipped outdoor bar area.
The villa has four ensuite rooms, , two with a sea-facing terrace and a fifth room with bunkbeds and its own bathroom . There is also a comfortable living room with built in sofas and typical Sicilian artisan furniture. An extremely well-equipped kitchen completes the villa.
Each room is brought to life with a delightful and eclectic collection of objects: family heirlooms, local handicrafts, oriental fabrics, old portraits, nineteenth-century Sicilian furniture, wonderful old travellers’ trunks. A passage from the garden leads to the beach, about 30 meters from the villa, while just a few steps from the house is a platform set right on the sea, equipped with chaise longues and umbrellas. Although completely private the house is connectedto the villa on the mountain side called Pyro-Pyro which accommodates 8 more guests. Large groups can rent both villas together.
Dining in one of Vulcano’s many smaller restaurants, or taking advantage of the arrangement with the nearby hotel I Mari del Sud, for dinner or breakfast.
