Accabbanna means “over here” in Sicilian dialect, and this beautiful villa was so-named to distinguish it from its twin, Villa Dabbanna (‘over there). The villa, elegant, and minimalistic, has wonderful views from the huge windows that form an integral part of the house’s design, decor and enchating atmosphere. along with a choice selection of traditional objects and contemporary works of art.

Accabbanna is a few kilometres from the magnficient Baroque town of Ragusa , and about 15 minutes’ drive from the coast at Scoglitti, set in a landscape much loved by cinematographers – indeed it is this landscape, with its low-lying scrub, dry-limestone walls and ancient olive and carob trees that forms the backdrop for the Inspector Montalbano TV series.

The Villa is on two levels. In the ground floor living room huge glass windows interweave with drystone walls, revealing wonderful views over the countryside to the sea and the splendid Castello di Donnafugata, a landscape that changes colour with the season and time of day. On a clear day you can see as far as Mount Etna and Malta. Opening off the living area is a well-equipped kitchen. Three of the bedrooms have double beds and ensuite bathrooms; the third is a twin with small bathroom and useful little laundry area.

There is a circular swimming pool with outdoor shower, and various furnished outdoor spaces to make outdoor living comfortable at all hours of the day. There is also a wonderful vegetable garden, from which guests are welcome to help themselves.

Villa Accabbanna is screened by vegetation from its twin, Villa Dabbanna, guaranteeing both privacy, but providing a perfect solution for groups of twelve or two large families.
Each villa has its own pool.

We like

The experience of living in close contact with nature, with the wonderful views ever-present.
Having the possibilty of reserving both villas for a large group of friends or family, in order to share a holiday while maintaining independence.
Having the little seaside resort of Scoglitti close at hand. It’s a lovely little village, and has some wonderful little fish restaurants!
Spending evenings by the side of the pool watching falling stars.
Collecting vegetables for lunch or dinner from the garden.

We think

This villa is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to combine a holiday exploring the wonderful sandy beaches of southeast Sicily with discovering the splendid art cities of Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Scicli and Noto.
Gourmets and wine lovers – this is a brilliant area for local produce, from wine and olive oil, to beef, cheeses and tomatoes.
Learning to cook the traditional dishes of the area – or discovering them cooked to order in the villa by our chef.
Exploring the surrounding countryside on horseback.
Large groups wanting two adjacent villas in which to share a holiday but maintain privacy.
