The coastline of Sicily is incredibly varied. There are formidable black volcanic crags (Catania), magnificently eroded sandstone cliffs (Egadi Islands ), even a natural staircase of creamy white marl (Agrigento). The beaches are just as varied — ranging from white beaches of fine sand (Mondello or San Vito), black sand (Aeolian Islands and Pantelleria), quartz shingle (Tyrrhenian and Ionian coasts), or golden sands and endless dunes (Siracusa, Ragusa and Selinunte). We have several villas where you can do as Inspector Montalbano does, and step out of bed and straight onto the beach!
