Historic aristocratic residence in the heart of Ragusa

An historic aristocratic residence in the heart of the Baroque town of Ragusa, with a splendid limestone façade, elaborate balconies in the much prized local stone, pietra pece, orginal tiled floors, fine stucco-work and spectacular and patiently restored chandeliers. Much of the palazzo’s current character is down to one of the masters of Sicilian Liberty (or Art Nouveau), Paolo Lanzerotti.
Dimora degli Antoci is a really evocative place to stay — guests can recapture the charm of the past in the colours of the Tiffany-style windows, in the magnficent curtains, and in the many precious objects that enrich the halls. Despite the historical setting, this home is also extremely comfortable and easy to live in.

The apartment is located on the second floor of the palazzo, reached either by the original staircase or by private lift. The current owners, heirs of the family, have created 2 suites and 1 bedroom on the same floor, while a fourth bedroom is accessed by a staircase, made of pietra pece, a type of limestone found only in the Ragusa area, naturally impregnated with hydrocarbons, which give it a dark hue.

All rooms have every modern comfort while maintaining authentic period style, a mood also amply present in the spacious lounges. An annex with direct access from an internal courtyard completes the rooms – ideal for guests who want to bring a dog or want to have direct access to an outdoor area.

Dimora degli Antoci is located in the historic center of Ragusa, a stone’s throw from the central piazza, with restaurants, bars and shops in easy strolling distance. The residence is a perfect base for visiting the Baroque towns and gorgeous countryside of the Val di Noto. In addition, guests have access to a shuttle service that will accompany guests to a local Lido a few kilometers from Ragusa.
